fiogf49gjkf0d fiogf49gjkf0d Goli Vada Pav, a leading fast food brand, has opened home delivery through its mobile app for its customers, which went live in July this year.
Venkatesh Iyer, CEO, Goli Vada Pav, explains, “This app allows users to tap into the authentic and innovative flavours of vada pav by placing an order for home delivery. As part of the first phase, the app is live for Bangalore customers through select stores. The launch of the app is a part of Goli’s digital strategy. The mobile app is available for a free download. In addition to the app, customers can also order online on our website.”
“Taking another step to implement the digital strategy, Goli has signed up with leading food portals like Food Panda and Swiggy. The service went live over the weekend for its customers in Mumbai. Mumbai, Bangalore and Gurgaon will be the three cities in focus for the company this year to roll out its various digital initiatives for pilot testing.”
“Response has been encouraging. Through our mobile app we have been able to understand the customer buying patterns and price points. This is going to help us to launch special products and packages for customers ordering via app or food portals in order to reach unit economics,” says Iyer about the digital pilot run.
The Android and iOS compatible app in Bangalore, will soon be implemented in Mumbai, Gurgaon and other cities in a phased manner. Iyer says, “As the Indian customer is exploring and becoming friendly with the digital space, evolution is the way forward for any brand who is looking at a bigger pie of the fast growing Indian food service market.”
Speaking about the home delivery carriers, Iyer said “Food Panda and Swiggy will be making home deliveries in the market that Goli is currently live on their portal. In addition to this, we have also tied up with Opinio, a hyperlocal service provider, for last mile delivery support in Bangalore, Mumbai and Gurgaon.”
In Kerala, the company has opened its seven stores based in Cochin, Calicut, Trivandrum, Palakkad. In Tamil Nadu, at Chennai and Coimbatore, the company has opened six stores. In Karnataka, the company has 103 stores of which 85 are in Bangalore alone. In Telangana, it has 4 and 1 in Andhra Pradesh. The company has 121 stores in the south currently. Also, it will open its new stores in Coorg, Pondicherry, Calicut, and Warangal soon.
The company plans to open 200 stores over the next five years in the southern market making it a strong market for the brand. These plans are opted to reach the 1,000 store mark across the nation by 2020.
Iyer elaborates, “We are going to roll out our planned digital initiatives pan-India in a phase-wise manner. Currently, we are beta testing these services in the three cities mentioned above. However, our physical roll out of the stores will also continue and it will be backed up by launch of new products in the next two quarters. We plan to launch new stores in cities like Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Mangalore, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Faridabad, Noida.”
