The Goa Vibrant Summit -2026 is all set to offer African nations investment opportunities in food processing and manufacturing sectors stated Goa Chief Minister (CM) Dr Pramod Sawant in his inaugural address highlighting that most respected names in the industry have chosen Goa as the manufacturing base and investment destination.

The third edition of the Vibrant Goa Global Business Summit 2026 was hosted by the Vibrant Goa Foundation in partnership with the Government of Goa from October 29 to  31 at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium in Bambolim. It brought together representatives from more than 50 countries, providing a platform to strengthen international business relations, facilitate investments and create new avenues for industrial collaboration.

Goa CM further added that the Vibrant Goa Global Business Summit (VGGBS) 2026 has emerged as a business opportunity for African countries to explore investments and partnerships in India's food processing sector and other key allied manufacturing sectors, with Goa positioning itself as an investment destination through its established food processing industry, ease of doing business initiatives and policy support.

Goa CM highlighted the state's established food processing base and its efforts to attract investments through ease of doing business initiatives, including single-window clearance and the state's startup policy. He said several reputed companies have chosen Goa as their manufacturing base and investment destination, reflecting the state's position in India's food processing landscape.

The Chief Minister said Goa's economic indicators, particularly its gross state domestic product (GSDP) and per capita income, provide a favourable environment for food businesses considering investments in the state. He added that expanding business engagement with other countries would create further opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and industrial development.

"Investment opportunities for businesses with other countries will get more heft as Goa has the highest GSDP and per capita income among the states in the country. Going forward, this will create employment and entrepreneurship. Goa Vibrant Summit 2026 is an opportunity for over 50 countries to enhance their business avenues in the food processing sector," Sawant said.

The state's investment outreach also covers food technology, wellness tourism, sustainability, marine technology, healthcare and wellness, healthcare fintech and healthcare education. The government is seeking to use the summit to connect international investors with local enterprises and entrepreneurs, while encouraging new business partnerships and investment proposals across these sectors.

The Chief Minister also referred to the alignment between the Centre's initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and the Goa government's policy interventions. Schemes such as Startup India form part of the broader development framework aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship, strengthening access to affordable medicines and supporting economic growth.

The food sector is among the important areas of focus given Goa's established manufacturing presence and the participation of globally recognised companies in the state. The summit provides an opportunity to extend this industrial ecosystem through international partnerships, including potential collaborations with African countries in food processing and food technologies and related supply-chain activities.

Rasik Naik, President of the Vibrant Goa Foundation, organizer of the Summit, said the summit comes at an appropriate time for African countries to explore investment opportunities in Goa and develop successful business partnerships across food processing and technology and other priority sectors. He said the platform could help African businesses leverage Goa's existing industrial ecosystem, particularly its food processing capabilities, and establish a mutually beneficial investment relationship with Indian industry.

Naik said the Goa Vibrant Summit represents a timely opportunity for African countries to create a successful investment story by engaging with Indian businesses. The India-Africa Business Conclave is expected to facilitate discussions on investment, innovation, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship and opportunities for cross-border business cooperation.

The summit brought together more than 300 international delegates, business leaders, policymakers and Goan entrepreneurs, with participation from over 50 countries. Apart from the India-Africa Business Conclave, the programme included a Global Semiconductor and Electronics Leadership Roundtable, the launch of the Confederation of Global Goan Entrepreneurs (COGGE), and dedicated discussions on investing in Goa, maritime development, women-led entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence and data.

Through these engagements, the Vibrant Goa Foundation and the state government aim to translate international business discussions into investment partnerships, industrial collaborations and entrepreneurial opportunities.
