FSSAI to launch Hindi version of FoSCoS boosting user experience

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has decided to launch the Hindi version of FoSCoS (Food Safety Compliance System).
According to the FSSAI, there was a demand from several quarters regarding making such ‘systems’ in Hindi so that the user experience and accessibility gets a boost.
“This is an important step towards enhancing business operational efficiency in the food industry.This further highlights the Government’s commitment towards ensuring business facilitation,” reads a statement issued by the FSSAI.
From 2020 onwards, FSSAI has made FoSCoS a single interface for food businesses and regulatory authorities across the country, in a move to streamline all the compliance & enforcement related activities.
According to the FSSAI, the system has played a pivotal role in the digital transformation of various food safety processes, simplifying adherence to regulatory norms for food businesses nationwide.
With the introduction of the Hindi version of FoSCoS food businesses, entrepreneurs and stakeholders from diverse linguistic backgrounds can seamlessly access and leverage its services. The portal will soon be rolled out in other regional languages, making it even more user-friendly for a wider audience.
Meanwhile, according to a senior official with the FSSAI, it was in the pipeline for sometime now and the matter was presented before the health ministry, which liked the idea and gave its nod.
The entire FSSAI portal will soon be introduced in the vernaculars and the process has started.
