FSSAI invites applications for food analyst and junior analyst exams

The FSSAI has invited online applications from eligible candidates, for 9th Food Analyst Examination, FAE 2023 and 6th Junior Analyst Examination, JAE 2023. The last date for submission of the forms was July 23 and the examinations are scheduled on September 3 while practical tests shall be held in the second week of November.
The details of the form, essential qualification and so on are available on FSSAI website. The applicants can submit the examination fee by July 31.
According to FSSAI, for FAE, minimum three years of experience in the analysis of food should be in any food testing laboratory, research institute, research laboratory after attaining minimum essential academic qualification.
The food authority also added that there is no age limit for appearing for FAE.
FSSAI’s notice says that for FAE, the candidate should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s or Doctorate degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or microbiology or Dairy Chemistry or Agriculture Science or Animal Science or Fisheries Science or Biotechnology or Food safety or Food Technology, Food and Nutrition or Dairy Technology or Oil Technology or Veterinary Sciences from a university established in India by law or is an associate of the Institution of Chemists (India) by examination in the section of Food Analysts conducted by the Institution of Chemists (India).
The notice added that the Junior Analyst after acquiring 3 years’ mandatory experience in analysis of food may appear only in Practical Examination as and when conducted in future. The opportunity for appearing in Practical examination for Junior Analysts after acquiring 3 years of experience will be provided only once. Upon qualifying computer based test examination, the Junior Analyst will become eligible to appear for practical examination of FAE under FSSR, 2022.
This opportunity, however, is available to qualified JAE only once in a life time.
