First FODMAP-friendly certified ice cream in the world
Wednesday, 30 September, 2020, 08 : 00 AM [IST]
Elsternwick, Australia
It is not surprising that the rate of vegan ice creams being launched globally over the past few years has doubled. With people moving towards a healthier lifestyle, and the current pandemic paving the way for a shift towards healthy eating, the interest in vegan ice cream is not just for those following a vegan diet.

However, over 12% of Australia’s population is now choosing a plant-based diet, encouraging leading ice cream brands in Australia to offer vegan alternatives. Cocofrio, led by husband and wife team Paul and Tintin Sealey, have committed to creating the best quality product and are passionate about ensuring there is no compromise when it comes to quality.

They have recently launched new boxed pack ice cream cones to complement their 500ml tub range. The cones come in two popular flavours of Salted Caramel and Hazelnut Choc Delight and are: Vegan; Gluten-free; Fructose-Friendly; FODMAP friendly certified; Australia-owned and Natural with no artificial flavours or additives.

Cocofrio Cones are designed to help with a range of allergies including dairy intolerances and are the only gluten-free cone product currently in the Australian market. They are also  the first FODMAP-Friendly Certified ice cream in the world.

“The FODMAP (Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides, and Polyols) trend is quite big and what we’re seeing in Australia is a lot of people are getting diagnosed with intolerances to fructose, so we need to look for products with low or no fructose in them,” explained Paul.

The brand strives to create a better tasting, natural and healthy ice cream that everyone can enjoy. And they have done exactly that!
