Felice inaugurates flagship restaurant Felice 56 in NY’s Chambers Hotel
Thursday, 26 September, 2019, 16 : 00 PM [IST]
New York
All-day Tuscan dining destination, Felice, unveiled the opening of its new flagship restaurant, Felice 56, on Wednesday. It is located inside the Chambers Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.

The restaurant, complete with an authentic Italian café, wine and cocktail lounge and main dining room, will continue to bring Italian sensibility to New York City through authentic Tuscan-inspired cuisine and design, steps away from Fifth Avenue.

Serving breakfast, lunch, aperitivo and dinner, guests will be welcomed at the entrance by a traditional coffee bar offering freshly-baked Italian pastries, espresso and cappuccino, along with an assortment of house made panini tartufati and an assortment of Tuscan schiacciate ripiene.

A wine and cocktail lounge is situated towards the back of the first floor for diners to enjoy after-work drinks and aperitivo of small bites.

With a skylight beaming natural sunshine through the space and dramatic high ceilings, the main dining room situated on the lower level will serve lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Designed by Studio Robert McKinley, Felice 56’s interiors are designed to mimic the warm, enchanting Tuscan countryside and vibrant streets of Florence through the use of bright elements and textures including exposed concrete, oiled woods and lime-washed finishes.

The 3,000sq ft space is built around one artistic focal point, a monumental watercolour work by Italian painter Fiona San Giuliano commissioned exclusively for the restaurant.

“We opened the first Felice to bring New Yorkers a truly authentic Tuscan experience,” said Jacopo Giustiniani, partner, SA Hospitality Group.

“A restaurant that offers traditional recipes from the region, specialty meats, beautiful red chiantis and an ambiance that instantly transports you to Tuscany. With those qualities at its core, Felice 56 will bring a more refined version of the neighbourhood favourite the city already knows, and loves, to Midtown Manhattan,” he added.

Serving authentic Tuscan cuisine, Felice 56’s menu, led by executive chef Adrian Kercuku, features signature favourites such as Pappardelle alla Chiantigiana and Cacio e Pepe, as well as unique offerings, including Linguinie alla Viareggina, inspired by the Tuscan seaside city of Viareggio, Fritto Misto di Pesce, Branzino al Forno; and from the countryside, Arrosto and Tagliata di Manzo.

A prix fixe menu will also be available. “The menu at this new location features the finest artisanal Italian products and locally-sourced produce to honor the spirit of true Toscana fare,” said Iacopo Failai, culinary director, SA Hospitality Group.

“Authentic Italian dishes at their core are simple, yet effortlessly flavourful, so I made it my mission with Felice 56’s menu to showcase centuries-old recipes that transport diners to Toscana with each and every bite,” he added.

The coffee programme, led by Lorenzo Antonelli, director, Sant Ambroeus Coffee Bars, paid respect to Italy’s ceremonial coffee culture with traditional espresso and cappuccino beverages that will be crafted using a signature blend by Lavazza, Italy’s most respected coffee producer.

The extensive Italian-driven wine programme will feature a collection of beloved varietals, blends and esoteric grapes that can only be found in Italy, including a large selection of vintages of Super Tuscan and Brunello wines.

The restaurant’s focus continues to be on organic and sustainable labels, which includes its three house signature bottles, Felice Chardonnay, Felice Sangiovese and Felice Rosato.

The wine list will feature older vintage wines that Felice 56’s wine team sources throughout the year to give its guest the opportunity to drink these wines as they were meant by the winemakers that created them.

The restaurant will be open between 7am and 11pm from Monday to Saturday and between 8am and 10pm on Sunday.

Lunch will be served between 11:30am and 5pm from Monday to Friday, Dinner will be served between 5pm and 11pm from Monday to Saturday, and between 5pm and 10pm on Sunday.
