The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Maharashtra, has conducted inspections at three places in Mumbai.
The three outlets raided belonged to Bademiya Restaurants.
While inspecting the restaurants it came out that none of the establishments possessed a valid food licence as required under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
FDA officials took a total of 10 food samples, comprising both raw and prepared food items, for subsequent analysis.
As all the three establishments are doing food business without licence and due to irregularities found in the inspection, the said establishments have been instructed to close the food business until they obtain food licence under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and take corrective measures.
The food samples collected during the inspections have been sent to a laboratory for in-depth analysis. Once the analysis report is received, further action will be taken in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
The food samples collected include Paneer, Marinated Chicken with masala, Chilli Powder from the first outlet, Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder, Jeera from the second outlet, four food samples of Kacchi Ghani Mustard Oil (Hathi Brand) and Curd, Chicken Biryani (Prepared food), Chicken Kabab (Prepared food) from the third outlet.
