The Covid-19 outbreak and its fallouts are examples of how disastrous ignorance towards food safety and hygiene can be. It should hence be seen as an opportunity to leverage and establish a hygienic and healthy society.

The end of the lockdown would not mean the end of the pandemic. It is obvious that the food and beverage Industry will have to up its game in food safety and hygiene, taking all possible preventive measures.

Ashwin Bhadri, an international food safety speaker and the CEO of Equinox Labs, India’s leading food, air & water testing and auditing company, says, “Establishing food safety and hygiene in the food production industry in the current scenario would only be to assure the safety of the employees/food handlers or consumers but, in fact, of the whole nation!”

In an attempt to flatten the dentures of the F&B Industry caused by the pandemic, the company is constantly working hard using its information channels to spread awareness and information.

With a similar cause, the team has curated a set of webinars hosted by Bhadri, who is also a national resource person for FSSAI. The series of webinars discuss all the possible standard and thorough Covid-19 prevention measures covering all aspects of the F&B industry and introducing new work models to adapt to any future challenges. The webinars are designed to enlighten not just the managing facilities but also the employees and other stakeholders of any F&B business.

It is obvious that in the post-lockdown world, the F&B industry will see a huge surge in takeaways and home deliveries. Food safety and hygiene will be of utmost importance, and the definition of hygiene for the industry could be upgraded. This upgrade could be the new normal.

Webinars like these will hence prove to be a shrewd step in helping the F&B industry prepare for the post-lockdown challenges and establishing new standards.
