Epigamia has announced the launch of India’s first plant-based coconut milk yogurt that is completely dairy-free and made with coconut milk. These zero preservatives, dairy-free yogurts are rich in probiotics, and available in unsweetened and coconut jaggery flavours.
Rohan Mirchandani, co-founder and CEO, Epigamia, said, “We spent months at the Epigamia kitchen to come out with India’s first plant-based coconut milk yogurt which is rich in probiotics. Additionally, because of coconut milk’s creamy texture, one can expect almost the same consistency of whole milk yogurt. Launching plant-based products is also a big leap in Epigamia’s strive in enabling sustainable livelihood and a cleaner environment for all.”
He added, “We are always working to find ways to reduce the footprint we leave behind us. Along with using recyclable containers, we have partnered with Hyderabad-based Recykal to collect back and recycle more than the total plastic used for our products. We are super excited about this new launch and yogurts are only the first a line of many plant-based products we are slated to launch”.
The company also announced the appointment of Dr Awkash Kumar from Sustainable Approach for Green Environment (SAGE) as an advisor to focus on its sustainability and reduced carbon footprint goals. “SAGE is supported by an experienced and dedicated group of advisers with a strong professional background in environmental auditing, water and wastewater treatment, air pollution control, solid and hazardous waste management. We have decided to follow a strategic approach to help Epigamia by applying our intellectual knowledge, project-based research, and capacity building towards environmental sustainability”, added Kumar.
With the focus on pushing boundaries by crafting contemporary versions of traditional foods, India’s first coconut milk plant-based yogurt range is currently available in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Gurgaon, Chennai and Hyderabad and is priced at Rs 70 for a 90 gm pack.
“We’ve been in the market for few years now and have witnessed an exponential demand from our loyalists for plant-based products over the years and this led to the birth of our new range made with coconut milk. So, whether you’re following a plant-based diet or are lactose-intolerant, you can now dig into these little cups carrying the goodness of coconut milk. We are doing our bit by ensuring that most of our raw materials are sourced locally and ensure fair pricing for all”, added Rahul Jain, co-founder, Epigamia.
