Embraco launches NEX, new robust compressors platform for commercial apps

Embraco has launched the NEX compressors platform, fourth generation after the NE, NEK and NEU families,for the Asia Pacific market.
Esequias Pereira, sales and marketing director, Nidec Global Appliance, responsible for Embraco’s commercial products portfolio in the Asia Pacific region, said, “It is a solution for food retail and food service, in applications such as display cases, ice makers, kitchen reach ins and beverage coolers, due to its robustness and high cooling capacity on a reliable NE platform, which are the recognized attributes of the Embraco brand.”
One of the main benefits of the NEX in comparison with the previous platforms is the increase in the platform maximum displacement from 18.7cc to 21cc, delivering a maximum cooling capacity of up to 1620W in MBP conditions. With such cooling capacity it can replace compressors on the NT platform for some applications, while keeping a lower profile (25mm shorter). It also brings top efficiency models with up to 10 per cent more in energy efficiency than previous versions while keeping the lowest noise levels in the market. This platform will be available for heavy duty applications in lower GWP (global warming potential) refrigerant options such as R290 but also in R404A.
“With this solution we aim to address the future needs of commercial equipment manufacturers’, offering energy savings, lower environmental impact and regulations’ compliance to the end user on a whole lineup of models. Also, the lower height and noise adds up a more comfortable buying experience from the food retailer point of view,”said Pereira.
X Generation compressors
The NEX combined with the NTX, NJX and EHX compose the X Generation of compressors. In parallel to the release of the NEX, which is in the midis category of compressors, the company also launched recently two new models of the NJX and four of the NTX, both platforms in the large category and in the market since 2019.
The whole X Generation works on natural refrigerant R290 (propane), thus being sustainable solutions, with zero ozone depletion potential and neglectable global warming potential. In addition to that all four platforms are market leaders in energy efficiency, making them fully compliant with the most rigid energy savings standards.
EHX for frozen islands and large coolers
The EHX is a compressors platform launched in the beginning of 2020. It is strongly focused on the Asian market, being manufactured in the brand’s chinese site. It is a robust platform specially suitable for frozen food islands, kitchen reach ins, ice cream freezers and large coolers. This platform is focused on delivering top efficiency with a strong matching with elevated technical requirements for larger commercial applications on a competitive platform. Additionally, it brings more energy efficiency, increasing 5 per cent in comparison with NEU platform.
NTXfor ice machines and multi deck reach ins
The NTX is the next generation of the NT series, developed to address the increasing demand for high energy efficiency and lower noise levels in large cooling capacity compressors for commercial refrigeration equipment. With a line up of models that is approved for higher refrigerant charge and still under PED Cat l, NTX is developed for applications that demand robust cooling such as multideck reach ins and ice machines.
NJXfor cold rooms
NJX is an extended generation of the NJ series, reaching up to 2 Hp on a single piston compressor. This product stands out for its high efficiency, low noise, robustness and reliability, with a compact and competitive design, suitable for a full range of applications. The capacity extension up to 2 Hp is an improvement up to 50 per cent in comparison to the current solutions available in the market and is the right solution for several commercial applications that need the extended cooling capacity, such as milk coolers, ice cream makers and cold rooms. It is available in R290 and low GWP transitory refrigerant options.
