Our Bureau, Mumbai
The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) will undertake Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2 to 31, 2026, in line with the guidelines issued by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG).

The campaign will focus on institutionalising cleanliness, reducing pendency in government offices, improving the experience of citizens interacting with government establishments, and ensuring the collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste generated in government offices in accordance with applicable rules.

During Special Campaign 5.0, the Department undertook a comprehensive cleanliness drive across its headquarters, attached and subordinate offices, public sector undertakings and other establishments located across the country. Several organisations under the Department also carried out plantation drives and cleanliness activities in public places.

Grievance redressal, particularly those related to the implementation of flagship agricultural schemes, remained a key focus area of the campaign. Along with the Centralised Public Grievance Redressal and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS), the Department operates dedicated portals for flagship schemes such as PM-KISAN and the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). The Union Agriculture Minister reviewed the quality of disposal of farmers' grievances received through these platforms, while the Secretary, DA&FW, guided officers in achieving the campaign targets during the implementation phase from October 2 to 31, 2025.

The Department also organised a workshop on Public Grievances and Special Campaign 5.0 on October 9, 2025, with the support of DARPG. The workshop was addressed by the Secretary, DA&FW, and Secretary, DARPG.

All attached and subordinate offices under DA&FW participated in the campaign, with e-waste disposal emerging as one of the key focus areas. Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institutes adopted a waste-to-wealth approach by using e-waste materials to create models of agricultural equipment and machinery, including drones, tractors and cultivators. The models were showcased at an exhibition organised during the workshop and were appreciated by the Secretary, DARPG. The initiative was subsequently recognised as a best practice under the Waste to Wealth category.

The Department also continued to strengthen its farmer grievance redressal mechanism. In addition to CPGRAMS, the Krishi Rakshak Portal provides farmers with a single platform to raise and seek resolution of grievances related to PMFBY.

As part of its communication efforts during Special Campaign 5.0, the Department and its attached, subordinate and field offices issued six PIB notes and posted more than 274 updates across social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.

The campaign recorded significant progress across cleanliness, grievance redressal and record management. A total of 1,133 cleanliness campaign sites were covered against a target of 1,133. Of the 32 pending references received from Members of Parliament, 31 were addressed. The Department also cleared all 1,77,336 pending public grievances against the prescribed target.

Under record management, 31,722 physical files were reviewed, of which 10,597 were weeded out. The exercise resulted in the freeing up of 18,042 sq. ft. of office space and generated revenue of Rs. 40,38,150.

Building on these initiatives, Special Campaign 6.0 will seek to further institutionalise cleanliness and efficient record management, accelerate the disposal of pending matters and strengthen citizen-centric grievance redressal, while placing continued emphasis on the responsible management of e-waste in government offices.
