Cranswick has announced the acquisition of Blakemans, a well-invested food service sausage manufacturer. It is a leading manufacturer of specialist raw and cooked sausage products supplying the food service and manufacturing sector. The business operates from a site in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Staffordshire and employs a team of 290 people who will join the company.
The acquisition is complementary to its existing added-value Gourmet Kitchen business; adding capacity in raw and cooked sausage production whilst enabling efficient supply into the wider food service market. The current owners, Phil Blakeman and Sue Cope will remain within the business.
