Chomps, a leading meat snack manufacturer, has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of a new range of chicken meat sticks, marking the company’s entry into a new protein segment within the rapidly growing snack market.
The newly introduced chicken sticks deliver 12 grams of protein per serving and are available in three flavours—Original Chicken, Nashville Hot, and Savory Breakfast. The launch represents the brand’s effort to diversify beyond its existing meat stick lineup that includes beef, venison and turkey products.
According to the company, the move addresses an opportunity in the meat snack category where chicken, despite being the most consumed protein in the United States, remains significantly underrepresented. Chicken currently accounts for only about 1 percent of the $8.2-billion meat snack market, highlighting strong potential for category expansion.
Rashid Ali, co-founder and chief executive officer of Chomps, said the company identified a gap in the snack industry where America’s most widely consumed protein was not adequately represented. He noted that the new product line aims to offer consumers a convenient and flavourful way to enjoy chicken as a high-protein snack.
The company also highlighted that developing a chicken-based snack stick required significant research and product development due to the complexity of achieving the desired flavour and texture. After years of experimentation, the brand introduced the product while maintaining its focus on high-quality ingredients and strong protein content.
Each chicken stick is made using antibiotic-free chicken and formulated without added sugar, artificial flavours, colours or preservatives, aligning with the brand’s clean-label positioning in the better-for-you snack segment.
The launch is expected to strengthen Chomps’ presence in the expanding protein snack category and attract a broader base of health-conscious consumers looking for convenient, high-protein food options. Retail availability of the new chicken sticks is expected to begin in the coming months.
