Strengthening its portfolio of heritage-driven European wines, Chason Beverages has announced the introduction of Bocale, a distinguished family-owned winery from Umbria, Italy, to the Indian market. The estate will be formally unveiled at the Vinitaly India Roadshow 2026, marking Bocale’s debut in India.
Italian wines represent one of the most authentic expressions of the Old World, shaped by centuries of tradition, indigenous grape varieties, and a deep respect for terroir. Staying true to its philosophy of curating expressive, regionally rooted estates, Chason Beverages has selected Bocale for its uncompromising craftsmanship, authenticity, and strong sense of place.
Azienda Agricola Bocale is located in Montefalco, one of Umbria’s most historic and prestigious appellations. Built on a winemaking legacy passed down through generations, the estate takes its name from “Bocale,” a local dialect term referring to a traditional two-litre mug used for wine or olive oil—a symbol of everyday wine culture deeply embedded in the region’s heritage.
At the heart of Bocale’s philosophy lies a profound respect for nature and traditional, hands-on winemaking. The estate spans approximately 10 hectares, with six hectares under vine, producing a limited annual output of 35,000 to 40,000 bottles. Natural and artisanal methods guide every stage of production, allowing the character of the land to express itself fully in wines known for their depth, balance, and authenticity.
Situated in Italy’s “green heart,” Umbria, Bocale remains quintessentially Italian in spirit—small in scale, meticulous in approach, and uncompromising in quality. The estate’s flagship wines, particularly Montefalco Sagrantino, are widely admired by sommeliers and collectors for their structure, longevity, and honest regional expression.
The arrival of Bocale in India reinforces Chason Beverages’ discerning approach to portfolio building, bringing Indian wine professionals closer to wines shaped by heritage, culture, and a profound sense of terroir.
