Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and Blue Ocean Park Ltd. announced the debut of the Westin brand in Mauritius with the opening of The Westin Turtle Bay Resort and Spa, Mauritius.

It is located in Turtle Bay of Balaclava on Mauritius’ North West coast, 15km away from both Port Louis (the island’s capital) and Grand Baie (its hub), this is the third Starwood property on the island.

The others are St Regis Mauritius Resort (located on the One Eye kite-surfing spot and the beaches of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Le Morne), and Le Méridien Ile Maurice (situated on the north-west coast bay of Pointe Aux Piments).

“The Westin Turtle Bay extends our long-standing partnership with Blue Ocean Park and is a key addition to our growing collection of Westin resorts in the region,” said Michael Wale, president, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Europe, Africa and the Middle-East.

The hotel offers a variety of food and beverage outlets, including the all-day dining restaurant Seasonal Tastes and the beach club Mystique, both of which feature the Westin brand’s signature SuperfoodsRx menu items.

The hotel also boasts three a-la-carte restaurants - Kangan (which serves Indian cuisine); Fusion (an east-meets-west-style restaurant with strong local culinary influences) and Beach Grill (which is located on the ocean’s edge and serves a variety of fresh seafood and succulent meats cooked on open barbeques).

It also offers the signature Westin Executive Club Lounge for exclusive access to the Westin Club, along with complimentary breakfast, evening snacks and beverages. The hotel produces local honey from its own beehives and sources fresh herbs from its garden.
