The first phase of Srini Food Park, one of the largest integrated food park projects in India with backward and forward linkages, coming up near Mogili village, Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, is close to completion and remaining infrastructure is likely to be in place by the end of this month.
Speaking to FnB News, Asmon Fredrick, head, marketing & business development, Srini Food Park, informed, "All the common facilities have almost been completed. Pulping line, boilers, effluent treatment plant, dry warehouse, pulping, incinerator, biogas plant and most other facilities are in place. Right now everything is almost done and by the month-end all the remaining facilities and infrastructure will be in place."
While five to six food processing units, mostly companies with headquarters in the Middle-East and the US, are already operating in the park, according to Fredrick, "The Park can accommodate at least 100 more units and we are expecting more companies to come forward and invest here."
Since the food park has been notified under agri export zone by the Ministry of Food Processing Industry (MoFPI), most companies that have set up a unit here are those who are based abroad, and those which export their products. Promoted by professionals, the park is also supported by the Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure Investment Corporation (APIIC).
