ABL to foray into nutra & produce gluconates at Halol greenfield plant

fiogf49gjkf0d Ahmedabad-based Anil Group of Companies’ expansion plans include a foray into the nutraceutical segment. Its venture, Anil Bioplus Ltd (ABL), was among the first companies to focus on the production of calcium gluconate through the fermentation process in India, and the only firm in India to manufacture sodium gluconate.
To increase the production of both these gluconates, the company has invested around Rs 150 crore in a greenfield plant that is coming up at Halol, near Vadodara in Gujarat. The company expects the new facility to be operational by next financial year, which would primarily be focussing on domestic as well as global market demand.
Darshan Mehta, ABL’s executive director, said that the manufacturing of these gluconates was in line with the company’s policy of launching value-added products regularly.
“The new greenfield capacity, which is expandable and has United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA)-approved infrastructure, would also manufacture enzymes and citrates,” he added.
