4th Mapro Strawberry Festival to be held on April 1-4

Mapro Foods Pvt. Ltd, one of the major fruit processors in the country, has organised the fourth edition of “Strawberry Festival.” The event will be held on April 1-4, 2010, at Mapro Gardens, Panchgani, Mahableshwer, in Satara district. The five-day event is dedicated to strawberry and other popular local fruits.
Recently, Mapro had appointed Mumbai-based Delta Nutritives to penetrate their range of products into hotel, restaurant and catering (Horeca) segment. “The 4th strawberry festival will showcase various strawberry-made products like strawberry pizza, strawberry sandwich, strawberry bhel, strawberry ice cream, strawberry milk shake and other delicious items made by strawberry,” Nikunj Vora, manager, Mapro Gardens, told Food & Beverage News.
Further the company has also decided to foray into ready-to-drink segment and launch an array of products during the festival.
Currently, the company offers over 60 products with an average turnover of around Rs 50 crore per year. The company offers processed food like jams, juices, crushes, squashes, syrups and preserves. It has also developed innovative “fruit jellies” (soft confectionery with fruit juice & fruit pectin).
According to the organisers, every year the Strawberry festival witnesses over 5,000-6,000 visitors. “The products are divided into various ranges like lounge, refresher, cool, restore, lifestyle & premium, and kids range. Every range contains a variety of products with unique features,” Vora added.
