17th India Foodex 2026: Accelerating India’s Food Processing Revolution towards Viksit Bharat @2047
Friday, 26 June, 2026, 16 : 00 PM [IST]
Our Bureau, Mumbai
India Foodex, India’s flagship exhibition for the food processing and allied industries, returns with its 17th edition at a time when the sector is emerging as a cornerstone of the nation’s economic transformation. Positioned at the intersection of agriculture, processing, technology, and markets, India Foodex reflects the growing importance of food processing in realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

India’s food processing sector has evolved from a support activity to a technology-driven growth engine, playing a vital role in value addition, employment generation, and export expansion. With India’s economy valued at USD 3.7 trillion and an ambitious target of USD 30–35 trillion by 2047, food processing stands out as a key enabler of inclusive and sustainable growth. The country’s vast agro-climatic diversity—spanning cereals, pulses, millets, dairy, fruits, and vegetables—provides a natural foundation for building a globally competitive food value chain.

From Farm Abundance to Global Value Creation
India Foodex mirrors the transformation taking place across the food value chain. Backed by strong agricultural output and millions of farmers, the sector is witnessing rapid innovation in processing technologies that reduce post-harvest losses, improve shelf life, enhance food safety, and increase farmer incomes. This progress is strengthening the farm-to-fork value creation model, while enabling Indian processed food products to meet international quality standards and address growing demand for safe, nutritious, and ready-to-eat foods.

Policy Push Powering the Next Growth Phase

India Foodex also reflects the strong policy momentum supporting the sector. The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) continues to drive growth through landmark initiatives such as the PM Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY), PMFME Scheme, Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme, and infrastructure support through NABARD. These interventions are creating a future-ready ecosystem that encourages investment, innovation, and global competitiveness.
