Spray Engineering Devices Limited (SED), a pioneer in energy-efficient industrial technology, has secured a major repeat order from Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries Ltd. (DBSIL). The project involves a comprehensive modernization of the Jawaharpur sugar unit in Uttar Pradesh, targeting a significant reduction in steam consumption to approximately 30.9% on cane.
With a crushing capacity of 9,000 TCD (Tonnes of Cane per Day), the upgrade is designed to slash operating costs and carbon emissions while maximizing thermal efficiency. This project follows the successful modernization of Dalmia Bharat’s Ramgarh and Nigohi units, where SED achieved similar breakthroughs in energy savings.
The modernization will involve the installation of SED’s proprietary technologies, including:
- Spray Continuous Pans and high-efficiency juice heaters.
- Integrated Falling Film Evaporators for advanced heat recovery.
- Automation of critical systems to support a 375 TCH (Tonnes of Cane per Hour) crushing rate.
"Repeat orders are the ultimate proof of performance," said Vivek Verma, managing director of SED. "At Jawaharpur, we are engineering a more sustainable future, demonstrating that large-scale manufacturing can be both efficient and environmentally responsible."
Pankaj Rastogi, business head-sugar division at DBSIL, emphasized that energy efficiency is now central to industry comptetiveness. "This upgrade is another step toward sustainable, cost-effective operations that support the local economy and livelihoods in Uttar Pradesh," he added.
The collaboration between SED and Dalmia Bharat Sugar has consistently pushed the boundaries of industrial efficiency.
