NSW keen to strengthen food trade links

The Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI), joined a high-level diplomatic gathering in New Delhi with Chris Minns MP, Premier of New South Wales, hosted by Philip Green OAM, Australian High Commissioner to India.
The meeting focused on deepening economic ties, boosting trade in the agri-food sector, and creating fresh opportunities for partnership between India and New South Wales. Building on the momentum of the India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA), conversations centered on how both markets can work together to streamline supply chains and bring a wider range of high-quality products to consumers.
Amit Lohani, founder and director, FIFI, said, “Meeting Premier Chris Minns and High Commissioner Philip Green was a valuable opportunity to discuss the growing India–Australia trade corridor and the opportunities ahead. The India–Australia ECTA has created fresh momentum for bilateral trade, and we are seeing increasing interest in high-quality Australian food and agricultural products in the Indian market. New South Wales is home to some of Australia’s finest produce, and as Indian consumers seek greater choice, quality and diversity, building efficient and reliable trade pathways will be increasingly important. FIFI is committed to supporting these connections and helping strengthen commercial ties between the two business communities.”
The discussion underscored a mutual dedication to building resilient supply networks, easing trade flows, and supporting growth across the food, retail, and agricultural sectors in both nations.
