The Centre has approved financial allocations totalling Rs 605.71 crore for Rajasthan and Telangana under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) and Krishonnati Yojana (KY) for 2026-27, Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said.
Rajasthan has been allocated Rs 340.59 crore, comprising Rs 216.12 crore under PM-RKVY and Rs 124.47 crore under the Krishonnati Yojana. Telangana has been allocated Rs 265.12 crore, including Rs 157.66 crore under PM-RKVY and Rs 107.46 crore under the Krishonnati Yojana.
Chouhan approved the allocations during a virtual meeting with Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena and Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao. Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Secretary Atish Chandra and senior officials from the Centre and both states also participated.
The approvals followed a review of the annual action plans approved by the Project Approval Committees (PACs), utilisation of the first Mother Sanction and expenditure progress in the two states.
For Rajasthan, the PAC approved an annual action plan of Rs 849.37 crore for 2026-27, including a Central share of Rs 509.62 crore, at its April 20 meeting. A first Mother Sanction of Rs 216.13 crore was issued on May 4. The state has since incurred expenditure of Rs 164.39 crore, or 76.06% of the sanctioned amount.
For Telangana, the PAC approved an annual action plan of Rs 651.06 crore for 2026-27, including a Central share of Rs 390.63 crore, on April 27. A first Mother Sanction of Rs 157.65 crore was issued on May 12. The state has incurred expenditure of Rs 96.05 crore, accounting for 60.93% of the sanctioned amount.
Chouhan appreciated Telangana’s new model for Farmer ID and fertiliser distribution, saying it could help provide agricultural services to farmers in a more transparent and effective manner. He also flagged relatively slower expenditure under the Oilseeds and Pulses Missions and called for regular monitoring of implementation and expenditure.
For Rajasthan, Chouhan urged the state government to focus on comprehensive agricultural development and pay special attention to the status of Kisan Credit Cards to ensure farmers receive timely and hassle-free access to institutional credit.
The Union Minister said the approvals were aimed at ensuring timely implementation of agricultural schemes and strengthening resources, technical assistance and monitoring in coordination with state governments. The allocations are expected to support activities related to agricultural infrastructure, productivity enhancement, input support and farmer welfare.
