British chef Khan to curate Rajput experience at Bandra’s Masala Bay

Indian-born British chef Asma Khan will curate a Rajput culinary experience featuring dishes from her London restaurant, Darjeeling Express, at Masala Bay, at Taj Land’s End, Bandra, Mumbai, on November 22, 2019, and an evening for Taj Chambers members at the same venue the following day.
Ranked No. 1 on Business Insider’s list of the 100 coolest people in food and drink, Khan is regarded an inspiration when it comes to Indian cookery at her own restaurant, and relentlessly pushes the boundaries as an advocate for social change. Her food is a celebration of Indian home-coming, which is not found in conventional Indian restaurants. Moreover, her team is an all-women staff hailing.
Khan comes from a royal background – Rajput on her father’s side and Bengali on her mother’s. That is where she gets her culinary expertise from. The food that she plans to cook in India will be platters of dishes boasting texture and intense flavour.
The chef, in association with Taj Land’s End and Culinary Culture, will create a special culinary experience in Mumbai. Culinary Culture is an upcoming mega food platform founded by journalist Vir Sanghvi and Sameer Sain, co-founder, Everstone Capital.
Culinary Culture aims to bring the very best of culinary offerings of the world to India, and more information will be released in the coming months.
The ticketed dinner at Masala Bay will kick off at 8pm, and be priced at Rs 6,000 (all inclusive), and The Chambers Members will also kick off at 8pm.
