Greenspace Herbs, has launched Morimin, a Moringa leaf blend designed to provide minerals and other nutrients from a plant-based source. The product combines Moringa oleifera leaf powder with Moringa leaf extract, offering minerals, dietary fibre, plant protein and healthy fats.
Unveiled at Nutraverse in India, Morimin is now available to nutraceutical and food brands in India and the United States. The launch aims to expand the use of Moringa, traditionally consumed in India, in the global nutrition and supplement markets.
Known in India as the drumstick tree or sahjan, Moringa has long been used in traditional diets and Ayurvedic practices. The leaves contain several essential nutrients, including calcium, potassium, magnesium and iron. According to laboratory analysis cited by the company, Morimin provides approximately 2,218 mg of calcium, 2,905 mg of potassium, 1,483 mg of magnesium and 13.3 mg of iron per 100 g. It also contains 18 g each of protein and dietary fibre per 100 g, with no added sugar.
Unlike conventional Moringa products made primarily from dried leaf powder, Morimin combines whole-leaf powder with a concentrated extract. According to Greenspace Herbs, the powder retains the leaf's natural nutritional matrix, including fibre and protein, while the extract provides a more concentrated source of naturally occurring plant compounds, such as polyphenols and flavonoids.
The formulation was developed by the company's research and development team and is manufactured at its factory and R&D facility in Magadi taluk, Karnataka. The company oversees sourcing, drying, extraction, blending and quality testing to maintain product consistency.
Before its launch, Morimin underwent safety, stability and preliminary human evaluation studies. An acute oral toxicity study conducted under OECD Guideline 423 reported no signs of toxicity at the tested doses, up to 5,000 mg/kg of body weight. A stability study also assessed the product's physical integrity and macronutrient profile over the study period.
In a preliminary human study involving ten healthy adults aged 25–60, participants consumed 300 mg of Morimin daily for 30 days. The company reported that serum mineral and trace-element levels remained within normal physiological ranges after supplementation, while participants reported reduced fatigue. The findings should be interpreted in the context of the study's small sample size and short duration. The company has submitted a combined manuscript covering the product's nutritive value and acute oral toxicity findings to Current Nutrition & Food Science, where it is under peer review.
Shafiulla Hirehal Nuruddin, founder and managing director, Greenspace Herbs, said, “The company aims to combine the traditional nutritional value of Moringa with standardised manufacturing and scientific evaluation. He added that introducing Morimin in India and the United States reflects the company's ambition to expand the global reach of Indian botanical ingredients through science-led product development.”
