Located at Perungudi, near Chennai, Melss is involved in system design, procurement, manufacturing and installation and maintenance of systems in process control and factory automation on a turnkey basis. Melss has also developed numerous specialised products like the customised vegetable handling and loading system, pneumatic transportation system, customised material handling and transportation system, automatic loading of material to overhead trays, automatic weighment of materials while being transported through overhead conveyors etc.
Agricultural conveyors designed by the company can handle bulk materials, which need to be stacked with the drop height to a minimum. The hydraulic drive on swivel wheels make the system easy to move as well as swing to sideways. The unloading end can be lowered to a minimum height of one metre and lifted to a maximum height of 4.5 metres above the ground level. The unit can extend itself to a maximum of 9.5 metres and retract to a minimum length of 5.5 metres. The system has a large overhang, to reach out into the containers for loading from the bay directly.
