CSI in B’lore to cater to beverages units

Closure Systems International Inc. (CSI) which is a recognised as a global leader in closure design, manufacturing and high speed application systems, has now commissioned a dedicated facility in Bangalore. The company is participating at the drinktec, being held between November 18 and 20, in Mumbai

The facility is the second in the Asian region after Nepal and the 31st closure production plant in the global CSI system with an employee-strength of 3,000. 

The Bangalore plant manufactures plastic closures of 28 mm standard neck finish and short height neck finish for applications in PET bottles for carbonated soft drinks, juices, water and fruit concentrates. The closures are recognised globally for the innovative designs, precision engineering, sealing integrity and tamper proof offering.

The advanced facility is equipped with closure manufacturing technology, as well as a flexible plant design that provides the capability to scale up capacity quickly and efficiently in the future, according to the information given by the company.

Employment opportunities at the manufacturing facility along with local sourcing of raw materials from within India will also provide a favourable economic impact to the region.

According to the company, it also offers worldclass packaging equipment that meet the various types of packaging needs of the clients. Our complete product assortment is hugely demanded by different countries across the world. Apart from India, it is also located in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, the UK, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Russia, Bahrain, Nepal, China, Korea, Japan & Philippines. It manufactures sour Plastic Closures by making utilisation of the patented CSI (H-C) compression molding process. In addition, it also offers Technical Services that strongly support the clients' set-up and maximise production, reduce unplanned downtime, reduce wastage as well as optimise asset utilisation.

CSI's closure systems solutions help customers maximize profits by increasing the marketability of their brands and optimising their total cost of operations. CSI is part of the Reynolds Packaging Group, an operating division of Rank Group Limited

A press note from the company stated that the Bangalore plant increases CSI's presence in Middle East, Africa and India to now include four manufacturing plants and multiple sales offices throughout the region.  “We are committed to increasing our presence in this important growth region," said Lance Mitchell, CSI President.

"Our major global and regional beverage customers are significantly increasing their investment within India, and we are pleased to be able to expand in this region to support our customer's growth. We are the first major closure company to manufacture caps in south India, showing our commitment to locally satisfy current and projected closure demand for the  beverage customers,” he added.

"The Bangalore plant will position CSI manufacturing closer to our key customers, ensuring reliable on-time supply and enhancing environmental sustainability," stated Sunil Sharma, General Manager, CSI India / Nepal.

"In addition, CSI will continue to provide expert technical services and high-speed capping equipment to our customers as we expand the adoption of our popular short-height 'mini' closure portfolio throughout the Indian sub-continent,” he stated. 

For more than 60 years, CSI has provided bottlers with an integrated closure and capping "systems" solution, which delivers the lowest cost of operation and peak bottling efficiency.
