PackPlus: Outstanding 8th outing with 350 exhibitors, 50+ product launches

PackPlus, the ace packaging industry show, is all set for an outstanding octa outing with a bigger profile this year. The event will be held from July 27 to 30, 2016, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The highlight of the show this year is that it would be 30 per cent larger in terms of the number of exhibitors and the net area occupied.

The event is expected to showcase products of more than 350 exhibitors from the packaging, printing, converting, processing and supply chain industries. The event is organised by Print-Packaging.com (P) Ltd, and it will feature 50-plus product launches, 100-plus running machines and several other attractions.

It will be showcasing solutions in the packaging, processing, converting, automation, and supply chain industry segments. The event attracts packaging buyers from the food, pharma, agro, beverage, personal care, FMCG, and other industrial sectors. Flexible packaging converters, label converters, carton converters and corrugated box manufacturers will be part of the event.

Highlights
The Indian packaging industry, growing at a fast pace, brings in a lot of opportunities for the beginner as well as veteran players. In the heady light of possibilities, the show has positioned itself as one of the most sought for exhibitions for the display of innovations and developments from the industry.

Neetu Arora, president, Print-Packaging, said, “The recordbreaking visitor numbers at the last PackPlus made it a huge success. This year the show is 30 per cent larger in terms of the number of exhibitors and the net gross area of 14,000 sq.m and the portents are for a still bigger turnout. PackPlus is co- located together with SupplyPlus and CartonTech in this edition. The profile of the exhibition is bound to be beneficial for everyone related to the packaging, converting, processing and supply chain industry.”

Last year’s edition of the show had witnessed a record footfall, and this year with the increased number of exhibitors, there is certainly more for the visitors to see and explore. It is also aimed at international manufacturers and suppliers of machinery, materials and services for the food, pharmaceutical and packaging industry in India and its neighbouring countries.

Visitors and Exhibitors
PackPlus 2016 will provide a complete business and networking platform to both the exhibitors and visitors arriving from all parts of India as well as neighbouring countries.

The number of visitors will be around 18,000 which is expected to be 30-35 per cent more than the previous year. The visitors profile will comprise CEOs, directors, general managers, packaging managers, R&D managers, production managers and other executives from the industry. Important decision-makers and specifiers from top and middle management will be target audience at the show.

Visitors will also get an opportunity to experience the running machines and have one-on-one interaction with the representatives from international companies like Beijing Weiermake Electronic Technology Co. Ltd. – China, Boix Maquinaria S.L., CKD Corporation – Singapore, eWon S.A., Honey Shield Emballeurs, Jung Won Machinery Co. – Korea, Labthink Instruments Co., Ltd.  – China, Mainpack Industrial Co. PackPlus and co-located event
PackPlus is co-located with SupplyPlus and CartonTech.

SupplyPlus 2016 - It will feature distribution, warehousing, bulk pack, logistics and AIDC and will be visited by supply chain, logistics and distribution professionals from the processed food, agro-produce, pharmaceuticals, personal care, FMCG, household durables, modern retail and other industries. Companies like Star Flex International, Shiv Engineering, Ferreterro India (P) Ltd, Nilkamal Bito Storage Systems (P) Ltd, Nilkamal Ltd and Flexituff International Ltd will be showcasing their products at the show.

CartonTech 2016 - It will provide a complete business and networking platform to the folding carton, converting and package printing industry. The show will feature suppliers of equipment and materials required from the stage of pre-press through printing, converting and finishing of the carton. It will also cover rigid box converting and paper bag making equipment. Companies like Ample Graphics (P) Ltd, Autoprint Machinery Manufacturers (P) Ltd, Mainpack Industrial Co. Ltd  Taiwan, MLM India Ltd and Linux Machine Incorporation will be demonstrating new products and solutions under the show.

Pavilion
The Packaging Products Pavilion will be the key attraction at the event for brand owners from the food, pharma, personal care, FMCG, beverage and dairy industry segments. From individual stalls to a pavilion, this segment has further grown into an exclusive hall at PackPlus this year. Leading finished packaging manufacturers including companies like Ajanta Print Arts, Any Graphics (P) Ltd, Decorative Sleeves (P) Ltd, Ecobliss India (P) Ltd, Pragati Pack India (P) Ltd, Packraft Containers, and Regant Plast (P) Ltd will be presenting innovative solutions in product segments like labels, mono cartons, dome stickers, shrink sleeves, plastic and tin containers, cosmetic closures, blister packaging, corrugated packaging and so on.

Like previous year, International Packaging Conclave will be held this year too. It will focus on Print Optimisation and Colour Management for Flexible Packaging. The conclave aims to explore the ability of converted package in preserving brand equity and delivering a consistent brand experience across printing processes, substrates, inks, colour rotation and myriad other outputs. Some 25 experts from the industry will unite for a daylong session on July 29. More than 200 delegates including brand owners, package converters, packaging technologists, procurement professionals, print specialists, QA, managers, pre-press and pre-media professionals, designers, material and equipment suppliers and consultants will be attending the programme.

The conclave is designed to examine and provide suitable viewpoints and solutions to all  stakeholders.

Indian Packaging Industry
The Indian packaging industry is growing at an annual rate of more than 15 per cent and is valued at US$15.6 billion (Rs 85,000 crore). In the next five years, the sector is expected to triple to around US$60 billion. More than 80 per cent of the total packaging in India constitutes rigid packaging. The remaining 20 per cent comprises flexible packaging. There are about 600-700 packaging machinery manufacturers, 95 per cent of which are in the small and medium sectors located all over India. Indian packaging machinery imports are US$125 million. Germany and Italy are the latest suppliers of packaging machinery to India but focus is now shifting on Taiwan, Korea and China. Indian packaging machinery exports are also rapidly growing.

The show is all set to provide excellent opportunities for processing and packaging, thus delivering technologies to improve business efficiencies and competitiveness. With its wide range, the exhibition is an excellent opportunity to get an overview of the latest products and trends, and make business contacts.
