Coffee Day Resorts; the connoisseurs of hospitality, have acquired 'Cicada Resorts'. Having only just entered the hospitality arena in the summer of 2008, with the launch of its first offering 'The Serai', the group has made an acquisition of the 'Cicada Brand', making the chain a leading player in Karnataka's high-end hospitality segment.
With two properties; Cicada Kabini: a 20-room property located near the banks of the Kabini (Mysore District) and Cicada Bandipur: a 25-room property located in Chamrajanagar (Karnataka), Cicada Resorts is an eco-tourism destination which aims at introducing the quintessential city-dweller to the wild.
According to M Venkatesh, Director, Coffee Day Resorts, the acquisition of the Cicada Resorts is in keeping with the Coffee Day Group's philosophy of offering trendy lifestyle products and experiences. We are constantly trying to increase our offerings and Cicada Resorts gives our guests more options.
Cicada - Kabini is located in a village called Karapura, 220 km from Bangalore, near the Rajiv Gandhi National Park, and is adjacent to the Kabini River Lodge property. The resort is strategically located on the banks of the magnificent Kabini River and serves as a wonderful gallery for viewing wildlife.
Cicada - Bandipur is situated very close to the Bandipur National Park and provides for an experience quite unlike anything you've ever experienced. Bandipur teems with wildlife and provides a safe haven for a myriad of wild fauna.
ABCTCL is an ISO 9002 certified company with over 10000 acres of owned and managed estates. Coffee Day Hotels and Resorts, a subsidiary of ABCTCL, was formed to enter the luxury hospitality market, leveraging the knowledge & expertise gained through its retail businesses. Its first property under the brand name "The Serai" is located in the home ground of ABCTCL in Chikmagalur district in the midst of coffee plantations and was launched in April 2008.
In December 2008, Cicada Resorts, with resorts in Kabini and Bandipur, was acquired by Coffee Day Hotels & Resorts thereby providing more options to a larger audience. Our main aim is to provide the discerning traveller with all the excitement of living in the wild, albeit in a relaxing and cozy environment, stated Venkatesh.
