Heritage Foods reaffirms quality commitment, empowers 3 lakh dairy farmers amid controversy

Heritage Foods Ltd has strongly stood by its stringent quality standards while highlighting its role in empowering dairy farmers across India, the company’s vice chairperson and managing director Nara Bhuvaneswari said recently. Her comments come against the backdrop of political criticism linking the firm to a separate supplier involved in a controversy over ghee supplied to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams sweets, which Heritage has repeatedly denied.
In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Bhuvaneswari emphasised Heritage Foods’ mission to deliver fresh, healthy dairy products to every household while uplifting dairy farmers through transparent practices and fair pricing. She said every product undergoes 25 quality tests, monitored by over 500 experts, ensuring that products surpass not just legal norms but also internal safety, hygiene and quality benchmarks.
Operating across nine states and working with nearly 300,000 farmers, the company has built its model on principles of transparency, fair pricing and timely payments, she noted. Heritage Foods’ journey from a modest Rs 4 crore venture to a Rs 4,000 crore organisation underscores its sustained focus on quality and farmer empowerment, Bhuvaneswari added.
Responding to criticism from the opposition YSR Congress, which attempted to link the company’s products to substandard ghee through a related supplier, Bhuvaneswari dismissed the allegations and invited the public to independently verify the firm’s quality claims. Heritage clarified that the supplier in question is an independent contract manufacturer with no formal corporate linkage.
The company’s vocal defence of its testing protocols and farmer-centric approach comes at a time when consumer awareness around food safety and product authenticity is rising. With a vast distribution network and a reputation built over decades, Heritage Foods continues to project itself as a trusted dairy brand committed to quality and rural empowerment.
