Sundrop launches Peanut Butter with "Protein Advantage" for growing children

Agro Tech Foods Ltd, an affiliate of ConAgra Foods, US, has forayed into bread spread segment with the launch of Sundrop Peanut butter - the bread spread that the company says is "a tasty way to grow strong".
Sundrop Peanut Butter contains 90% roasted peanuts and serves 25% of protein by weight in every serving. The product has zero cholesterol and zero trans-fats.
According to Sachin Gopal, president, Agro Tech Foods Ltd, "Changing lifestyles and growing health awareness have opened up the market for healthy and nourishing products. The Rs 500 crore bread spreads market has immense growth potential. This Peanut Butter will be welcomed by increasingly health-conscious consumers who are seeking healthier and tastier alternatives to butter, margarine and jams. We already have a strong market position and health identity with Sundrop and our entry in the cholesterol-free bread spreads segment is a natural brand extension."
Sundrop Peanut Butter is available in a plastic unbreakable bottle weighing 510 grams and priced at Rs 99. It is available in two flavours, crunchy and creamy. The product has been launched in all key markets in India and is readily available at all major stores.
Sundrop is the largest brand in the premium segment of the refined oil consumer packs market. This was launched in 1989 as sunflower oil, in a predominantly groundnut and mustard oils market. From being one of the first sunflower oil brands, today it is one of the largest selling refined edible oil brands.
