Smith & Jones, a noodles manufacturing company, has launched Indian version of noodles - Masala Noodles. The company said through extensive consumer research, Smith & Jones discovered that Indians relished Desi food and like a "Tadka" as a garnish. The new Masala noodles is a medley of 52 Indian spices.
The estimated instant noodles market in India is about Rs1100 crore accounting for an annual growth rate of 15%.
Primarily targeted at children and Indian families, Masala Noodles have been introduced in single serve and family packs across 400 cities in India as well as US, UK, Middle East, Singapore and Australia. The single and family pack will be available at Rs 10 and Rs 39 respectively.
"Like any other instant noodles, to prepare Smith & Jones Masala noodles cut open the pack, break the noodles and pour into boiling water, add the flavour sachet included in the pack, cook for 2-3minutes and Smith & Jones Masala Noodles is ready to eat," the company said.
