fiogf49gjkf0d Tata Starbucks Ltd, the 50/50 joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company and Tata Global Beverages Ltd, is celebrating its first anniversary in the Indian market.
To mark the occasion, the company unveiled an India Estates Blend, which is sourced from the Tata Coffee’s estates spread across Coorg and Chickmagalur. The company will also be introducing soon the global favourite, Salted Caramel Mocha, which is a creamy beverage of salt and sweet, as part of the anniversary celebrations.
“We are celebrating our one-year anniversary in India and introducing for the first time a whole bean coffee that is sourced, roasted, packaged and sold in the country. We have a long-term commitment to work closely with the coffee growing communities where we do business and elevate the awareness on high-quality Arabica coffee in India,” said John Culver, group president, Starbucks China and Asia-Pacific, channel development and emerging brands.
“Since the launch of the maiden store in India in October 2012, customers here have made the Starbucks experience a part of their lives. The India Estates Blend is a synergy between Starbucks and Tata Coffee, and their commitment to develop and improve the profile of Indian-grown Arabica coffees. This country-specific blend creates a fine balance between herbal and chocolate. The blend has been named to represent the origin of the coffee and the packaging has been carefully created to reflect the nuances of traditional Indian designs,” said Avani Davda, CEO, Tata Starbucks Ltd.
The Starbucks stores are operated by the joint venture, Tata Starbucks Ltd, and branded as Starbucks Coffee – ‘A Tata Alliance.’ It opened its second store in Pune, taking the total store count to 25, across Mumbai, National Capital Region (NCR) and Pune.
Since its inception in 1971, Starbucks Coffee Company has over 17,000 stores globally.
