Sheraton Grand Pune Bund Garden Hotel has announced the ‘Konkani Mango Safari’, a unique cultural and culinary festival celebrating the rich heritage of the Konkan region. This special event, featuring the exceptional home chef Meena Paranjape, will run from May 24 to June 1, 2024. Guests will enjoy an immersive journey into the heart of Konkan traditions and hospitality, with a delightful mango twist added to traditional dishes.
The ‘Konkani Mango Safari’ is a homage to the vibrant culture and timeless traditions of the Konkan region. Chef Paranjape, a homemaker turned entrepreneur, epitomises this spirit. Her journey from managing intimate family gatherings to consulting for major projects like the Netflix film ‘Cobalt Blue’ in October 2021, and curating events for Pangat Marathi Kitchen and Chef's Table with Cherish Farm, speaks volumes about her dedication and expertise.
In collaboration with 'The Western Routes,' an organisation committed to promoting local culture and tourism, the hotel brings this festival to life. This partnership ensures an authentic and enriching experience for all guests. Supreet Roy, general manager, Sheraton Grand Pune Bund Garden Hotel, said, "We are excited to partner with 'The Western Routes' and Chef Meena to bring this unique festival to life. Our goal is to offer our guests authentic and unforgettable experiences, and the 'Konkani Mango Safari' is a perfect example of that commitment."
Chef Paranjape said, “Curating the 'Konkani Mango Safari' is a truly unique and fulfilling experience for me. This festival is not just about showcasing the incredible variety of mangoes, but also about celebrating and sharing the vibrant culinary traditions and deep cultural heritage of the Konkan region. It is an honour to bring these cherished traditions to life and offer our guests an authentic taste of Konkani cuisine.”
