Kemin industries opens new regional hub in Italy to accelerate pet-food innovation

Global ingredient manufacturer Kemin Industries recently announced the opening of a new regional headquarters and research laboratory for its pet-food and rendering technologies business unit, Kemin Nutrisurance, at its Veronella site in Italy.
The facility is dedicated exclusively to research will serve as a strategic hub for Kemin Nutrisurance’s operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). It complements the existing production and laboratory infrastructure at Veronella, reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation, talent and regional investment.
Since establishing its European presence in 2011 with just 20 employees, Kemin Nutrisurance has grown to 125 employees, and the EMEA business now accounts for around 30 % of the unit’s global revenue, with an average annual growth rate of over 11 % in the past five years.
“This territory has given us the strength to grow,” said Nicola Abrate, general manager for Kemin Nutrisurance – Europe. “We are committed to giving back by fostering innovation and attracting talent from around the world.”
The grand-opening event was attended by Kemin global leadership including Dr Chris Nelson (president & CEO, Kemin Industries) and Kimberly Nelson Gracia (president, Kemin Nutrisurance), alongside local authorities and community stakeholders.
With this investment, Kemin Industries aims to advance its capabilities in the pet-food and rendering ingredients market, meeting rising demand for premium solutions while strengthening its footprint in Europe and adjacent regions.
