The three-decade-old Cremica Food Industries, which has established itself as a veg mayonnaise, ketchup, salad dressings, spicy sauces, syrups, jams conglomerate, has now marked its foray into the beverage segment with 10 fruit crushes that are ready-to-serve the HoReCa (Hotel, Restaurant and Café) customers.

The expansion into this segment is a business strategy to maximise production capacity of its state-of the-art fruit processing plant with an intent to propel  innovations and  drive growth in this segment.

Akshay Bector,  chairman and managing director, Cremica Food Industries, told FnB News, “This is a natural expansion for us. We touch a significant number of HOReCa customers nationwide and are well known as a quality player. Adding this range enables Cremica’s entry in the beverage segment and we are deeply committed to help our customers.”

The 10 fruit crush servings packaged in 750 ml PET bottles are pineapple, strawberry, butterscotch, mango, orange, black currant, green apple, guava, banana, litchi.

Noting that even as the torrential rains have dissipated the summer fury, Bector said that beverages are an essential component of every meal, and with our products specifically tailored for the HoReCa segment, we cater to a consistently growing and reliable demand within this industry.

The company will bring its culinary and fruit processing experience and expertise to better the quality.  "We  have been at the forefront doing similar products for international QSR (quick service restaurant) chains and the market will benefit from the innovation and creativity that Cremica brings to the table," he added.

"The current estimate for the market size of this segment is about Rs 2,000 crore per annum. We feel the segment is quite under penetrated and our marketing and reach will help a number of our customers to significantly enhance their revenue," Bector said.

The present trend is that with range of fruit beverages already in the market, the customers are looking for local taste and flavours with an international twist, he  said.

"In the wake of stiff competition, we have seen that the potential of Cremica’s Fruit Crushes to present itself in the market is our ultra-modern fruit processing plant in our Cremica Mega Food Park at Una in Himachal Pradesh inaugurated by former Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal in 2021 is a huge strength. The plant is currently processing significant quantities of apple, pears, guava, strawberry and tomatoes. Now the jam and crush line is also situated in the food park," said Bector.

Over the past three decades, the company has established itself as a food products conglomerate, leading the food processing business through its range of products, its internationally certified production facilities, the consistency of its quality and its unmatched expertise in the industry. It is also a preferred vendor to some of the largest food giants in India like McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Domino' and Subway, consistently scoring high on international quality tests and taste parameters. The company introduced India’s first vegetarian mayonnaise and Indian sandwich mayos like Tandoori and Mint.
