Niqo Robotics, a pioneer in AI-driven agrochemical spot spraying, has successfully commercialized 148,000 acres this season, solidifying its position as the leading provider of spot spray technology in the Global South.

More than 3,000 farmers across Akola, Guntur, and Khammam have reaped the benefits of Niqo’s AI-powered spot spraying, which has been applied to nine different crops, with a focus on cash crops like cotton and chilli. By transitioning from conventional blanket spraying to targeted spot spraying, farmers have reduced agrochemical input costs and water usage by up to 60%.

Unlike traditional broadcast spraying, which indiscriminately covers entire farmlands with chemicals, Niqo’s AI-driven technology precisely identifies and sprays only the crops, preserving soil health and reducing chemical pollution. Using proprietary machine learning models, Niqo’s camera-based system distinguishes between target plants and non-target areas, ensuring precision while maximizing return on investment.

To enhance accessibility, Niqo operates on a Sprayer-as-a-Service model, where village-level entrepreneurs lease AI-powered sprayers and provide acreage-based spraying services to small farm holders. This model democratizes access to cutting-edge agricultural technology, even for marginal farmers.

“We are thrilled to achieve this milestone of 148,000 acres. Our AI-powered spot spraying enables farmers to save up to 60% in input costs, and our service-based model ensures accessibility to even the smallest farm holders,” said Jaisimha Rao, chief executive officer & founder of Niqo Robotics.

For the upcoming Kharif season, Niqo aims to expand its farmer base, introduce support enhancements, diversify crop applications, and strengthen operations through strategic partnerships and continuous innovation.
