Nakul Anand, the chief executive – hotels division of ITC and permanent invitee to the corporate management committee, has been elected president of the Hotel Association of India (HAI). He replaces Priya Paul, chairperson of Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels.

Eating out to get costlier as AHAR plans increase in menu prices
Eating out at restaurants and hotels could get costlier in the coming days as the industry body has asked its members to raise prices following an increase in input costs. “We have asked our members, numbering 6,000 in Mumbai, to raise the menu prices by at least 30%,” said Chandrasekhar Shetty, president, Association of Hotels & Restaurants (AHAR).

Best Western chain plans 100 hotels in India
Best Western, which is one of the world’s largest chain of hotels and currently has 11 operational hotels in the country, is aiming to expand its network to 100 hotels over the next seven years. The hospitality giant will open five new properties in the country by the end of the year, taking its count to 16 hotels in India.
