Abu Dhabi company KRC International’s Priyom, a brand which has been a major player in Kerala’s food production and distribution industry for the past 27 years, is being relaunched in a new packing and entirely different avatar.

Further, the company has unveiled a new product “Instant Pal Payasam Mix.” Pal Payasam as is known is Kerala’s sweet delicacy. Its origins are in Kerala’s  temples. However, very few households prepare it now due to lack of time and other reasons, and hence, the company has launched it well in time for Onam.

The product was unveiled by P Muhammed Sameer, executive director, KRC International, by handing over the product to
Anusree Nair, a film actress, at a function held in Kochi. Sunil P Krishnan, business head, Priyom Condiments, attended the function. The product will be available in 200 gm DC Pack at Rs 43 in Kerala and Rs 49 outside Kerala.

Priyom was started in the year 1987 with own facility at Pallikkara near Kakkanad, Kochi. It was taken over by Abu Dhabi-based KRC International as a part of their expansion plans in Kerala in 2014.

The company is into a wide variety of categories like rice flour, masalas, curry powders, ready-to-cook SKUs including instant payasam mixes, roasted vermicelli, macaroni, soya chunks and so on. The company also handles the importing & marketing of the recently launched Jalba dates.

The production unit is at Pallikkara and work is underway to augment rice powder production at Kodanadu facility. The company is in the process of rolling out more products with the intention of becoming a leader in Kerala’s and India’s food industry in the next two years.
