fiogf49gjkf0d New Delhi-based ice cream company Creambell has recently announced its entry into Gujarat market and an investment of Rs 275 crore to pump up its presence in the Indian market.
Speaking about the development, Nitin Arora, chief executive officer, Creambell says, “We are happy to announce our entry in Gujarat and we will be focussing over the next five years to build a strong presence here.”
Arora said that in the first phase, the focus would be the key ice cream market of Gujarat-----Ahmedabad and later would expand their presence to other areas such as Baroda, Rajkot and Surat in the next year. The ice cream market in India is estimated at Rs 3,500 crore and Gujarat is the largest market.
Interestingly, Creambell has notched up a 15 per cent market share within a short span of 12 years and it has emerged as one of the top five brands in the highly competitive ice cream segment in the country. Creambell is expanding its footprint across the country.
This success is primarily driven on the back of a holistic approach adopted by the company in pursuit of its endeavour to delight the consumer with its product offerings, time after time.
“We are aiming for an increased overall market share of 18 per cent and for this the company has earmarked investments of Rs 275 crore over the next three years in capacity expansion, research and development and market activations,” adds Arora.
Creambell is also expanding beyond India, aiming for growing international presence. With major interests in the Africa dairy market, Creambell is introducing its ice cream brand in the continent gradually in countries such as Uganda, Kenya, Zambia and Tanzania.
Currently, the company has its presence in over 70 per cent of the overall ice cream retail segment and over 10,000 push carts across India in areas of presence. It has wholly-owned three state-of-the-art production facilities (Baddi, Kosi and Goa).
