Taste of Mumbai festival brings food from across the world to island city

fiogf49gjkf0d Taste of Mumbai, an international food festival, was organised here recently by Ask for Food in partnership with American Express.
The event showcased food stalls from different cities around the globe and Mumbai's famous restaurants.
The festival was thrown open by Shailesh Baidwan, country manager and head, consumer cards business, American Express, India; Stephen Flintwood, sr VP & MD, IMG (International Management Group); and Cyrus Broacha, TV anchor and stand-up comedian. Among others, Rachana Sharma, Karen Anand and Babso Kanwar of Ask for Food were present on the occasion.
“The main aim of such food festivals is to introduce the cuisines and restaurants of the particular city. And, around the globe, similarly in the taste of Mumbai event, you can experience various dishes from different countries under one roof,” said Baidwan.
Besides Master Chef New Zealand 2011 winner Nadia Lim; chef Jehangir Mehta, New York; chef Vivek Singh, London; chef Chris Erasmus, South Africa; Michelin Star Chef Ivan Musconi, Abu Dhabi; and India’s Ritu Dalmia and Vicky Ratnani were also part of the event.
Arola, J W Marriott; Aurus; Caperberry, Bangalore; China House, Grand Hyatt; Fire - The Park, Delhi; Graffiti, New York; Impresario Handmade Restaurants; Jamavar, The Leela; Kofuku; Koh, Intercontinental; Olive Bar and Kitchen; and Prego, The Westin; were lined up as top restaurants in the event.
“Taste festivals have been a huge success worldwide and we were pleased to introduce Taste along with our partners American Express for the very first time to Mumbai. The response to the festival has been outstanding on all 3 days and Taste will be an annual feature in Mumbai and other cities in India,” said Stephen Flintwood, sr VP & MD, IMG.
“The concept of this food event was established in London with the 'Taste of London' food festival and slowly we started organising it in various cities around the globe and this is the first event in India which is the 17th city,” said Kanwar from Ask for Food.
