JVL Agro to commission new plant to produce soya, palm oil in West Bengal

JVL Agro Industries Ltd, a vegetable oil solution company, is coming up with a plant near the Haldia port, West Bengal.
Primarily, the new plant will produce refined soyabean and palm oil, bakery shortening products and premium quality vanaspati product. The products from new plant will cater mainly to eastern, north-eastern and central markets of India.
While replying to FnB News, Adarsh Jhunjhunwala, whole-time director, JVL Agro, said, “The capacity of the plant is 1,200 metric ton per day (MTPD) and it will be commissioned by March 2012. The total investment in this plant is about Rs 150 crore and the investment is done with a view to bring in latest technology available in the world for smooth running of the unit and to come up with superior quality product. The project is funded by a mix of debt and internal accrual / equity.”
He also added that when run at full capacity, this plant should be able to contribute approximately Rs 1,500 crore to the top-line of the company. Before the next season of mustard seed starting in February / March following expansions will be made at company’s Alwar Plant: The capacity of mustard seed crushing will increase from 200 MTPD to 400 MTPD; the capacity of solvent extraction plant will increase from 250 MTPD to 450 MTPD; and the storage capacity of seed will increase by 4400 MT by installing new silos. The company has also bought 500 acres of land in Bihar to further venture into agro commodities such as rice, maize and biomass-based captive power plant.
