IIL launches four new vaccines

Indian Immunologicals Ltd (IIL) of Hyderabad, a subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), is set to launch four new vaccines.
"All the four vaccines are in the final stages of research and clinical trials are going on," IIL Managing Director K V Balasubramanian said.
Japanese encephalitis and pentavelent vaccines in the human health category and for brucellosis, an important but neglected animal disease in India, and anti-tik vaccines for animals will be launched early next year in the country.
According to a company official, with the launch of the new vaccines, the current turnover at Rs 271 crore, is expected to cross Rs 300 crore in the next fiscal.
The Indian Government was importing vaccine of Japanese encephalitis worth up to Rs 30 crore a year. It was also purchasing Rs 10-15 crore worth of vaccines annually for brucellosis, the official said.
