The Bengaluru-based NutriParadise Foods, a business-to-business (B2B) player in the food and health sector, has unveiled GI 55 Khichdi, a variant of khichdi which is apt for diabetics. It is made from 100 per cent natural products, is cholesterol-free, contains no added sugar and has zero monosodium glutamate (MSG).

The company concentrates on providing healthy and nutritious food to hospitalised patients with special dietary requirements.

Its first product, which has given Khichdi a twist, follows the company’s mantra of the right combination of nutrition, flavour and design to create diets that are supplements to the healing process. All its products have been designed for specific disease conditions and are functional in nature.

NutriParadise, incubated at the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru, has done extensive research and development (R&D) on the various natural ingredients and the right mixes, designing food products as complementary to medicines.

Currently, the product is available directly through hospitals. Priced at Rs 45 for a 60g pack, GI 55 Khichdi will be available at Divakar Hospital, Excel Care, BIG, SHRC and Sagar Hospitals.

NutriParadise caters specially formulated food to hospitals. It is the first company in India to develop convenient therapeutic food products for diabetic patients, pregnant women and for those suffering from general illnesses.
