Budenheim India, part of the German-based Chemische Fabrik Budenheim, has opened its sales and marketing office at New Delhi  to expand its footprint in the Asian sub-continent. The three business units launched would deal with material ingredients, food ingredients and performance materials.

Delhi was the selected location with a view to help strengthen customer base and its presence in India.

“India is one of the largest food producers in the world and it has diverse agro-climatic conditions and has a large and diverse raw material base suitable for food processing companies. Also, India is looking for investment in infrastructure, packaging and marketing. Strategic geographic location which includes its proximity to markets in Europe and Far East, South East and West Asia) makes it suitable place for the exports. Apart from that, there is a continued market demand for quality and pure phosphoric acids, phosphates and phosphate specialities produced by Chemische Fabrik Budenheim and the company's technical expertise in the growing food industry in India. Therefore, a dedicated Budenheim  team in India would help to  bring us even closer to the customers,” Marc Mueller Trimbush, general country manager, Budenheim India, told F&B News in an e-mail interaction.

Budenheim is known for its range of pure phosphoric acids, phosphates and phosphate specialities. Especially for the food and beverage sector, the company claims that its calcium phosphate prevents unwanted staining during the frying process and improves colour stability.

Phosphates support the growth and improve the quality of fruits, vegetables and ornamental plants and are also used to enrich the mineral content of many food products.

Budenheim has developed special phosphate combinations  which are blends of acid, neutral and alkali, with trade names like Abastol and Carnal, which are  widely known for their applications in food, stated Trimbush.
