FSSAI and AOAC International exchange MoU at latter’s fifth conference

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), inked by FSSAI and AOAC International, was exchanged by Pawan Kumar Agarwal, the former’s chief executive officer, and Kaushik Banerjee, president of the latter’s India Section, at the inaugural session of the latter’s fifth annual conference with partner in food science and safety, which took place in New Delhi recently.  

Through this MoU, AOAC offered free access to the official method of analysis (OMA) to the country’s apex food regulator. The former will also support the latter in its capacity building programmes and in initiating collaborative studies on developing and validating the methods of analysis for various nutritional and food safety parameters in India specific food matrices. The regulator, in turn, will recognise the former’s methods for official control purposes.
