Rai appointed GM at The Ritz-Carlton’s first & only hotel in Bangalore

The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore has appointed Amitabh Rai as its new general manager. He will be leading a team to further strengthen the positioning of the brand’s first and only hotel in India. His focus will be on ensuring that guests depart with memories of a truly exceptional hotel experience, reflective of the brand’s iconic legacy worldwide.
Prior to his current assignment, he was general manager of The Oberoi, Gurgaon. With over 25 years of experience in business and hospitality, he is a seasoned professional, having worked in multiple hotel properties in India. He started his career in 1993 as assistant manager, front office, and within a span of 10 years, became general manager at The Oberoi Grand due to his passion for hospitality and people.
Commenting on his new role, Rai said that the key focus would be on ensuring that the hotel continues to excel and deliver the legacy of hospitality and the famed distinctive services that the brand is globally renowned for.
A graduate from St Joseph’s College for Arts and Sciences, Bangalore University, he also holds a diploma from Oberoi School of Hotel Management. He is passionate about travelling and discovering unfamiliar places, and is an avid golfer. He is also a director on the board of Shivia India (Nirdhan), a United Kingdom-based charity, that aims to empower underprivileged people, create livelihoods, boost income and inspire permanent change.
