Paban Kumar Borthakur steps down as Jt Secy; takes over as Chairman of APEDA

Paban Kumar Borthakur has been appointed as the new Chairman of APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
Borthakur is an IAS officer of 1989 batch. He was posted as Joint Secretary in Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, prior to his posting in APEDA.
Considering his last posting in Ministry of Agriculture and his exposure to various postings in the state government of Assam, his contribution to agricultural trade will definitely give a new dimension of agriculture exports from the country.
