Namit Kharbanda appointed as director of human resources at JW Marriott Pune

JW Marriott Pune has appointed Namit Kharbanda as its director of human resources. With over a decade of well-rounded experience in human resource management, he will actively formulate innovative HR initiatives and ensure effective and professional communication at all levels within the organisation.
A creative thinker with strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills, he effectively balances the needs of his colleagues with the mission of the organisation. In his new role, he will head all HR-related operations, such as recruitment, talent development policies, administration, compliance and management, while also ensuring alignment with long-term business strategies.
Kharbanda joined the hotel from Andaz, Delhi, Hyatt’s lifestyle brand, where, as the director of human resources, he was in charge of HR policies and processes, as well as taking care of talent management.
He is a veteran of the human resources function in the hospitality sector, with a long-spanning career in the industry, with prominent brands such as Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Abu Dhabi National Hotels Compass ME LLC and IHG Group, among others.
Kharbanda is a post-graduate in human resources management and marketing from Symbiosis University, Pune, and holds a diploma in hotel management from IHM, Chandigarh.
His contributions to the industry were recognised by the World HRD Congress, where he was one of the 101 Top HR Minds in the Indian hotel industry ssegment in 2019.
