Kairali, the Kairali Group’s Ayurvedic healing village, will host Healing Recipes - Back to Roots, India’s first Ayurveda-based chef’s retreat, in Palakkad, Kerala, between July 3 and 6, 2017.
The event will offer people an opportunity to interact with Ayurvedic doctors and chefs, attend specially-curated master classes, explore the local cuisine, learn the art of growing vegetables and spices organically and master the art of making gourmet meals that are nourishing and indulging.
“Designed through 120 years’ worth of collective experience of the experts at Kairali and some of India’s leading culinary minds, the idea is to create a fascinating platform that brings forth ancient food wisdom and philosophy presented through modern culinary practices,” said Gita Ramesh, joint managing director, Kairali Ayuvedic Group, said at an event to announce the retreat.
She added, “Healing Recipes – Back to Roots has been put together with inputs from the legendary chef Manjit Gill.”
“The inaugural sessions have also been endorsed by chefs Vikas Seth (an expert in Mexican food), Abhijit Saha (a progressive cuisine expert), and Chetan Sethi (a specialist in Indian cuisine).
Ramesh stated that the first chapter of Healing Recipes was a conscious effort at food sustainability.
It is an attempt at showcasing how age-old philosophy and culinary practices still hold relevance in modern times.
Madhulika Dash, curator and co-founder, Healing Recipes, was also present at the launch event.
