GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare’s revenue for Q3 of ’17 Rs 1,035 cr

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd declared its financial results for the third quarter ended December 31, 2017. The comparable revenue for the company recorded a growth of 19 per cent on the back of a strong performance by Base Horlicks and Boost across regions. As a result, the quarter recorded revenue of Rs 1,035 crore, while the profit before tax (PBT) for the quarter was Rs 253 crore, which is a growth of 23 per cent.
Navneet Saluja, the company’s managing director, said, “We have delivered a strong Q3, owing to robust performances by Base Horlicks and Boost that witnessed increased market penetration and access. Our distribution for health food drinks during the quarter was also amongst the best we have witnessed for some time now.”
“We are confident that the domestic consumer demand led by a revival in rural markets, owing to the government’s strong focus on rural development and higher spending on health and nutrition will create positive momentum for the sector,” he added.
“Given our strong commitment to high science, investments behind our brands combined with continued innovation and sharp customer insights, we are confident that we will grow ahead of the market in the quarters to come,” said Saluja.
